Following the release of their CD Appaloosa Daydream earlier this year, the Urban Monroes have been riding the album up the charts. In August, their re-imagined version of “Little Maggie” reached #1 on the Roots Music Report Bluegrass Top 50 Song Chart. The band’s version of the iconic “Blue Moon of Kentucky” also made the Top 20 on that same RMR list and the band sits in the number one spot on AirPlay Direct’s All-Time Top 50 Bluegrass Chart with almost 11,000 DJ downloads. Among the reviews that came in August, Stanton University Radio said of the CD that it has “sublime vocals throughout with innovative arrangements.”
In addition to this, the band is excited to announce that bass player Louanne Fugal has joined the Urban Monroes’ lineup. A veteran performer, Louanne brings not only her extensive musical experience, but also her boundless energy and enthusiasm. The band looks forward to her presence both on stage and on upcoming recording projects.
As for the Urban Monroes’ current CD, Appaloosa Daydream, the full-length album and multiple individual tracks are available for DJ’s to download via AirPlay Direct. More information on the Urban Monroes and Appaloosa Daydream can be found at the band’s website, www.urbanmonroes.com
