It was 2006 when Taylor Swift released her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” and seven years later she’s now singing with Tim on his new single, “Highway Don’t Care.” When Tim thinks about the sort of full circle of events he says, “I know, it’s really interesting. It’s cool that we actually got to work together finally. We’ve been on stage together. I’ve sang with her at her shows before and she opened for Faith and I on our Soul2Soul tour years ago.”
Not wanting to age himself too much, Tim jokes it wasn’t that many years ago. And actually, Keith Urban who makes a guest appearance on the song playing guitar was also once an opening act for Tim and Faith. Tim says, “It’s always nice to go back and work with people who you’ve had a connection with over the years and that connection’s a pretty big one with Taylor.” “Highway Don’t Care” is the follow-up to Tim’s #1 song, “One of Those Nights,” off his Two Lanes of Freedom album.
