One of the feel-good Country singles of 2016 is going to be “Rewind” by Southern Halo, the trio of teenage sisters whose remarkable harmonies put them in the company of Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town. Written by Catt Gravitt (Jana Kramer), Gerald O’Brien (Martina McBride), and rising country artist Chancie Neal, “Rewind” is a perfectly-crafted Country-Pop song that rivals anything on the charts today. With an infectious chorus of Lay by the bank just a boom box/Dancin’ in the river in the boondocks/Dryin’ our jeans on the rocks/Can we rewind, rewind, this song is the perfect summer anthem for young female Country listeners and their boyfriends to crank up on the way to the campground.
These three talented sisters from Mississippi – Natalia, Christina and Hannah Morris – lay down tight sibling harmonies ala SHeDAISY and the Dixie Chicks, and turn an already catchy song into one with real staying power. And they don’t just sing – they also play guitar, drums and bass, respectively, in their live show. Recently featured in a Billboard magazine article about trending female bands, Southern Halo is certain to be one of the year’s breakout acts, and “Rewind” could be the hit that propels them to stardom.
