Rolling Stones To Tour In 2013

rollingstones_2012The Rolling Stones have reportedly struck a deal to mount a short arena tour of North America in the late spring of 2013.

According to the Examiner, the Stones have signed with Australian promoter Paul Dainty and Virgin Live who handled the band’s shows in 2012, including the series of 50th anniversary concerts in the U.K., and U.S. Virgin Live is a partnership between Paul Dainty’s Dainty Group and billionaire adventurer Richard Branson’s Virgin Group.

The tour, long-expected, appeared to solidify in recent weeks, with hints such as Mick Taylor, who filled in for the band on guitar during their anniversary gigs, canceled a series of planned tour dates that had been set for the spring.

The Stones’ last major tour was ‘A Bigger Bang,’ which ran for 147 shows around the world from August 2005 and August 2007. Promoted by Live Nation, the tour went on to become the second highest grossing tour in history, grossing more than $558,000,000, and second only to U2’s 360 tour.

As of yet, no itinerary has been announced for the tour.
