Flogging Molly with The Drowning Men and The Attack in Atlanta

With head-banging frenzy that would seem better suited for Lamb of God or MegaDeth, fans crowd surfed and slammed each other in mosh pits for L.A.-based Celtic punk band Flogging Molly. The band made a stop on their tour in Atlanta at The Tabernacle for a sold-out audience. Recently needing reinforcement in the structure after a partial floor collapse in the main hall, The Tabernacle once again shook with the pounding of fans' feet as the Irish-themed music rocked the walls.

Krisitian Bush

Kristian Bush with Larkin Poe at Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta

Sometimes, being single is a good thing. It gives you time and space to discover who you want to be without the influence of anyone else changing your path. Case in point: Kristian Bush, one-half of the hit country duo Sugarland. Bush is hitting the road on his "Put Your Soul In It" solo tour while Sugarland takes a hiatus. Bush, an accomplished songwriter and performer, began his tour in Atlanta at the historic Buckhead Theatre where he performed for a packed house...

The stage was empty; a microphone was just standing there. It was imperative that the night’s show was going to compose of solo acts. The Mercy Lounge filled up quickly with Sea Wolf fans anticipating for him to perform. Liza Anne, who went on the stage first, performed a short set, but a sweet set. P!nk’s “The Truth About Love” Tour

Remember Monty Hall and Let’s Make A Deal? The contestant had to choose between door number one or door number two, and didn’t know what they’d find behind either one. Saturday night’s P!nk concert in Atlanta was like being that contestant: Door number one opened to a musical concert, while door number two led to a performance of Cirque du Soliel. With all the acrobatics and outstanding dance routines that were part of the show, I think I managed to get the best of both doors.

Brian Setzer

Brian Setzer with Firebird in Concert in Atlanta

Rockabilly has its roots dating to the early 1950's, with Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley considered as the "founding fathers" of the musical genre. Wikipedia defines Rockabilly as "a blend of country & western and rhythm & blues [that] pointed the way to classic rock 'n' roll." Personally, I think there are two words that can best describe Rockabilly: Brian Setzer. In the early 1980's, Setzer formed the Stray Cats and immediately caught the attention of the music world with...

Michael Nesmith

Michael Nesmith at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta

I was nine years old when The Monkees started showing up on my TV on Saturday afternoons once the cartoons were over. This was in reruns, since I was too young to stay up late (i.e. 7pm) when they first appeared on TV in 1966. The other girls in my class were in love with Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork or that English cutie, Davey Jones. However, my heart was captured by the handsome guy in the stocking cap who played the big white guitar. On Saturday night I had the chance to see my ...
