The poppy Seattle based alt-folk band, Motopony have just released their Sophomore LP, Welcome You via eOne Music / Fast Plastic. Welcome You is the follow up to Motopony’s 2011 self-titled debut LP and the culmination of the last four years of spell-crafting, songwriting, knot tying, child bearing, rebuilding, reimagining and rebirth.
“‘Welcome You’ embodies the human spirit, a transformation of sorts. It can’t solely be identified in one way, but can collectively cater to many different listeners and audiophiles.” – Best New Bands
The album was recorded live to tape by Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Heartless Bastards, Trail of Dead) and mixed by Guy Massey (Spirtualized, Manic Street Preachers, Ed Sheeran) at Bear Creek Studio in Seattle, WA.
“The group’s music blends the spaciness of early Pink Floyd with Bowie-style glam and filters it all through a modern indie pop lens—a style that’s gotten Motopony tunes into shows like ‘House’ and ‘Suits’.” – Entertainment Weekly
Please feel free to post the album singles, “Daylights Gone” and “1971.” Review copies of the album are availbale by request. Motopony also have tour dates through the rest of June and early July (listed below), please get in touch if you’d like to set up an interview, feature, review, or session.

Originally based in Tacoma, WA, Motopony was formed in 2009 with the meeting of songwriter Daniel Blue, co-producer Buddy Ross, drummer Forrest Mauvais, and guitarist Brantley Cady. Shortly after the band’s formation, they relocated to Seattle and released their first self-titled album with Tiny Ogre in 2010. Shortly thereafter, the band added guitarist Mike Notter and set off on a national tour in support of the record.
In early 2014, the band added new members Andrew Butler, Nate Daley (in place of Buddy Ross), and Terry Mattson (in place of Brantley Cady). Later in September, Motopony had signed on to eOne Music / Fast Plastic and released an EP, Idle Beauty before setting out on a three month international tour which included dates in the UK, India, and London, where they stayed to record with producer Rob Cass in Abbey Road Studios.
