Country legend Loretta Lynn made a stop on her tour at the Chastain Park Amphitheater in Atlanta, where she performed her 50 years of hits for her enthusiastic fans. The Coal Miner’s Daughter is still in her top form after 5 decades in the music business, with a voice that sounds as good now as it did twenty and thirty years ago. Lynn graced the stage in a “Gone With The Wind” style flowing blue dress after her twin daughters, Patsy and Peggy, performed three songs for the crowd.
Opening the show was Country rocker Sonia Leigh, a rising star on Zac Brown’s Sounthern Ground record label. Leigh’s connection to Loretta Lynn goes back to when she was five years old and attending a Lynn concert with her father. She drew the superstar’s attention when, during a quiet pause, she loudly exclaimed “Now that’s country, dad.” Sonia has been building a huge fanbase across the country with her Joplin-esque vocals and southern rocker stylings.
Music News Nashville was on hand to capture the evening in photos.
