Along with the celebration of one of America’s most important of Holidays, Independence Day, the Urban Monroes also celebrated the beginning of July with two #1 chart positions. Both the Roots Top 50 Bluegrass Chart (visible at the following link to their site: http://tinyurl.com/l5jccoj) and the APD Global Top 50 Bluegrass Chart had the band in top place. So it’s more than just the warm weather that has put a glow in the band’s collective heart.
The onset of summer has seen the Urban Monroes’ single “Never My Love” finding its way to many radio stations and helping to drive up their chart positions. Coming from the band’s new CD, Appaloosa Daydream, the song also appears on Poetman Records’ Acoustic Rainbow Radio Sampler, which is distributed to approximately 1200 DJ’s worldwide.
Appaloosa Daydream is the band’s third full album release and was fueled by fan requests for recordings of the song arrangements from live performances that have been enticing listeners since the band’s 2008 inception. It also gave the band members a chance to fulfill one of their own daydreams. That was to have their friend Jim Chatfield of World Wide Bluegrass, join them on a few cuts. As a result he can be heard playing bass on the recent single release of “Never My Love.” That song and three others from the new CD are also available for DJ’s to download at AirPlay Direct.
