Texas Roadhouse Rocker Joe Ely was invited onstage by Bruce Springsteen Tuesday night when The Boss and his famed E-Street Band played their encore before a packed Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion amphitheater in Houston.
In raucous tour de force, Ely and Springsteen treated the crowd to the classic Jerry Lee Lewis gem, “Great Balls of Fire” and Little Richard’s “Lucille.”

Ely and Springsteen are longtime friends and admirers of one another, and frequently show up at one another’s shows. Springsteen sang backup on Ely’s 1995 classic album, Letter to Laredo.
