Country duo Jesse and Noah Bellamy have just released their new video for “Buried In Blue Jeans,” the latest single off their album Landfall.
After pushing the mainstream country envelope with their previous video release, “Dirty With A Southern Drawl,” that was deemed a bit too risqué for country music television, “Buried In Blue Jeans” takes the viewer into the Bellamy world with a song that honors their family legacy and their grandfather, Homer Bellamy.
Directed by Jon Spicola, a longtime friend of Jesse and Noah’s, the video incorporates scenes from the family ranch and Florida’s historic Townsend House Cemetery. The cemetery dates back to 1854 where several generations of Jesse and Noah Bellamy’s family are interred.
The brothers acknowledge that some may believe that it’s somewhat disrespectful or morbid to sing on your grandparents’ graves, but they said it was a way to honor two of the biggest fans of country music they’ve ever known.
“Our grandparents are the reason we do what we do,” said Noah Bellamy. I think a lot of people think we do country music because of our Dad, but we were pretty much raised by our grandparents while he was on the road. That’s where we first heard stuff like Merle Haggard, Jimmie Rodgers, Marty Robbins and Jim Reeves.
Jesse Bellamy, who is the sole writer on the song, came up with the title the first time his girlfriend looked in his closet and discovered that he didn’t own a pair of dress pants.
“I had wanted to write a song for my Grandpa for a longtime,” said Jesse. “One day it occurred to me to put the two ideas together. From there the song sort of wrote itself.”

The new song …Buried in Blue Jeans, is fabulous on so many levels. Not only does the song and video display the respect and memory of their grandparents,…especially Homer, but, they prove that all youth are not forgetful or ashamed to show softer and more dignified emotions …not very prevalent in today’s x-generation of now grown adults. I have never heard either of them …in any media form…and even when given ample opportunity…to say or write even one unkind word about anyone…except each other, of course…they are brothers!!! Speaks volumes of their up-bringing by grandparents and parents…especially, David. Watch these two bright, talented, and very creative guys. They’re not riding on anybody’s coat-tails….they may be writing and singing about it…but, Jesse and Noah both know themselves for who they are…and have no problem looking at their own reflection when the the mirrow is turned towards them! Their star…..together and individually…is rising even higher and faster than they even imagine. Keep an eye on them…or you just might miss the next and best country fireworks since ….well, ….ever!!
