Like all four of global standup sensation Jeff Dunham’s previous top-rated comedy specials, his latest horror-themed, Halloween-timed “Minding the Monsters” show scored high with TV viewers last Sunday, October 7th, on Comedy Central. Five million tuned in for its 9 PM premiere, with 100 percent of them watching the entire show, and another 2.5 million viewed its 10 PM repeat for a total of 7.5 million across the evening.
It was the second most-watched cable show of the night with all viewers 18-49 years old, #1 with males 18-34 and #2 with all viewers and men 18-24. It posted the best ratings of the year for a standup special on Comedy Central, and is the fifth most-viewed standup show for the network. Dunham now holds three of the top five most-viewed programs on Comedy Central with “Minding the Monsters,” “Controlled Chaos,” and “A Very Special Christmas Special.” The special also broke ratings records on Canada’s The Comedy Network by becoming the most watched broadcast this year for the channel with nearly half a million viewers.
The DVD and Blu-Ray, which hit stores on Tuesday, October 9th and is already racking up record sales numbers, contain more than an hour of comedy not seen on TV including tons of bonus features and horror movie trailers starring all the guys, plus a behind-the-scenes peek into the making of the monsters! Upon its release, “Minding the Monsters” was the #1 comedy DVD on Amazon.com, and it is sure to boost Dunham’s astounding overall total of DVD and Blu-ray sales over the 8 million mark with his other releases: “Arguing with Myself,” “Spark of Insanity,” “A Very Special Christmas Special” and “Controlled Chaos.”
Dunham continues to rule on the road as he packs out arenas and other major venues with his new Disorderly Conduct Tour, launching November 1. He was named the top live comedy box office attraction in North America for three consecutive years and the world for two years running by Pollstar magazine. He recently made his second arena tour of Australia and enjoyed his debut visit to New Zealand.
Tickets for the Disorderly Conduct Tour go on sale this Friday. For more information on Jeff Dunham, who is managed by LEG Management, and specific dates and cities for the tour, please go to: www.jeffdunham.com.
