Jay Scott Berry Strikes a Common Chord While Back In The U.S.

What a week it’s been for singer Jay Scott Berry. Landing back in the US after a five month tour across Europe, Berry received overwhelming response to his music in Las Vegas, LA and Phoenix. With a # 1 Hit and more to come, Berry is now one of the hottest artists on the international music scene.

Currently, Jay’s first single, “Please Come to Boston” is charting in the top 10 across numerous mainstream US charts alongside the top names in the music business. His new album, Keepsake, was officially released last week at a red carpet party, hosted at Studio City Sound. The evening included a live webcast, interviews plus an intimate concert by this celebrated artist. This was no small feat, in a studio that has seen the likes of Rod Stewart, No Doubt and Prince. Berry, however, was up to the challenge, ultimately winning over everyone in the crowd with his elegant artistry of song.

With barely a moment to catch his breath, Berry was off the next morning to Phoenix for a concert at The Wild Horse Pass Casino. This special event, The Dry Heat Classic, is an annual fundraising Golf Tournament for special charities in and around the Phoenix area. Berry took the stage as the headline act before a star-studded crowd that was SRO. Celebrity guests included sports stars such as former Chicago Bears QB Jim McMahon, Baseball legend Ozzie Smith and two time Super Bowl champion Dwight Hicks. Numerous stars from film and TV were also in attendance including Marc McClure from Back To The Future fame, Michael Storm from the popular daytime drama One Life To Life, and Peter Jason of Desperate Housewives. After the finale song, event organizer, Michael Finney, led the full standing ovation, saying afterwards,” A great voice and a fantastic concert!”

Perhaps the biggest surprise at both of these events was his music’s appeal to a wide age range. Parents who brought their children were amazed to see them dancing along to Berry’s upbeat songs and sighing, in turn, to the love songs. Many of Berry’s renditions of classics, like “Runaround Sue,” “Solitary Man” and “Brown Eyed Girl” were instantly accepted by the young generation, who had never heard the originals. “I was as astonished as anyone to have these young girls dancing alongside their mothers in the audience,” says Berry. “What a joy!”
