Jay Scott Berry Hits Another Milestone

International singing sensation Jay Scott Berry hit another milestone this week as his second single, “Solitary Man,” continues to steamroll up the charts.  Berry’s fresh take on the Neil Diamond tune broke through the 10,000 spin barrier this week, gaining another six stations. Add that to the 30,000 spins attained by his first hit single, “Please Come to Boston,” and it totals up to Berry receiving over 40,000 spins at radio since his album Keepsake debuted in April.

This week’s FMQB charts shows “Solitary Man” making an eight point jump to #24, leapfrogging over Pink and Bruno Mars. And for the third week in a row, Berry has made the FMQB “Most Added” list. The upward momentum continues on other charts as well. According to the November 18 issue of New Music Weekly, “Solitary Man” is at # 19 on the highly competitive Hot 100 ahead of Nikelback and Rihanna. Berry has also broken into the Top 10 of the West Coast AC40 chart and moved up another three spots on the Top 40 Main chart.

“Jay Scott Berry has achieved quite a lot of success in eight months,” commented Gary Hendrix, head of the Independent Music Network, where Solitary Man raced to #1 on their Mainstream chart in September. “We expect the success to continue.  IMN is debuting his third single, ‘Hallelujah,’ on our Best of 2011 syndicated radio show and we feel it will follow in the footsteps of his other two hit singles. He has more to come from his Keepsake CD.”

As “Solitary Man” continues its steady rise on the national charts, Berry no doubt will be a major contender during award season. “That’s all very promising,” he admits. “It does seem a bit cliché to suggest that there are others who have worked just as hard producing great music and therefore, deserve the awards as well. I’ve always taken the slow and steady approach with my life and career. Like Aesop’s proverbial tortoise, I’m quite happy to cruise along and enjoy the scenery. If it turns out that I end up with a few awards for my efforts, that’s just icing on the cake.”
