Jay Scott Berry Hits #1 Again

International singing sensation Jay Scott Berry, catapulted to the # 1 position this week on the Independent Music Network’s Mainstream chart. “Solitary Man” took only six weeks to navigate to the top of the charts marking the second # 1 hit from Berry’s highly acclaimed debut CD, Keepsake.

Berry’s fresh take on the Neil Diamond classic continued its assault on numerous charts in the US and overseas. According to the Sept 30 issue of New Music Weekly Magazine, a prominent industry trade publication, “Solitary Man” is moving steadily up the Hot AC Main (#29), Hot AC Indie (#10), Top40 Indie Chart (#17) and the extremely competitive Hot 100 (#50) rubbing shoulders with the major names in the business.

New Music Weekly has called Berry “One of the big success stories of 2011 and one of the hottest new acts on the national and international music scene.”  The Independent Music Network’s Gary Hendrix, who heads the leading network for Indie artists and bands says, “Jay Scott Berry was # 1 this week with a classic hit he made entirely his own. Radio and fans have responded by taking his song to the top. His debut CD has many more hit songs on it, but ‘Solitary Man’ will be around awhile.”

What has surprised many, including Berry, is the broad appeal that his songs seem to have. “Please Come to Boston” was a hit around the world with young and old alike, not only on AC and Soft Rock stations, but on Country and Pop charts as well. “Solitary Man” is now adeptly following that same path. “I’ve always felt that there was a common ground in music, something the greats like Denver, Diamond and Croce were able to tread,” explains Berry. “That was my target with this new CD.”

And now critics and fans alike are singing their praises in agreement that Berry’s heartfelt vocal style is indeed right on target.
