Pop-soul artist, Jackie Young, is intoxicating fans everywhere with the release of her new single, “Get Away With It,” now available on iTunes. The SoCal artist and fashionista has a unique sound which is reminiscent of an ingenious blend of Ellie Goulding and Colbie Callait, that can easily be heard in her pop sensibility. With a stellar fashion sense and relatable lyrics, Young is the complete package.
Produced by Jesse Barrera and written by Athena Marie Byrne, Billy Schafer, and Young, the new single is particularly unalike the typical break up songs. Jackie explains, “”Get Away With It” is a culmination of the writing and sound I have been working on for so long. I’m really happy with the way it turned out and I can hardly wait to share with the world.” With a soulful, spirited beat and Young’s sultry vocals, “Get Away With It” exerts a sense of comeback and is the perfect reminder for anyone going through a breakup to not let someone destroy you. The single shares a message of not being a victim of heartbreak or allowing someone to drag you down. Proving to be an upbeat break up anthem, Young croons, “You stole my heart, can’t get away with it. Are you ready for the consequence?”
Music has been ingrained in Jackie Young’s everyday life since a young age. After learning to play guitar at age thirteen, and taking classical vocal lessons throughout high school, Young found herself fully immersed in music and was offered a place in the prestigious music program at Berklee College of Music. Young has since been writing her own unique material, balanced with both deeply personal and raw emotions. A wide range of artists have helped shape her rare sound: “Amy Winehouse taught me to embrace honesty, The Civil Wars taught me dynamics, while Allen Stone’s soulful voice inspired me to further pour passion into my songs while performing them.”
Jackie Young’s self-titled EP will be available February 25th and is the result of her most vivid personal experiences regarding all types of relationships. The ups and downs of life have allowed her to create something honest, straightforward and raw. With the impending release of her EP and having already shared the stage with notable acts like This Century, Teddy Geiger, and Night Riots at venues such as House Of Blues-Sunset, Chain Reaction, and Los Angeles County Fair, Jackie Young’s rise to success is escalating.
