Rock and Pop Singer/Songwriter Danielle Antonio has just released a new single on iTunes titled “Freedom and Philosophy”. The track captures the classic sounds that fans of Pop, Rock, Blues, Rockabilly and Country music appreciate. Danielle’s timeless vocals bring depth to her lyrics about viewpoints in our current society. You can sample and buy “Freedom and Philosophy” on iTunes.
Danielle Antonio grew up fully immersed in band, musical theater and singing showcases. Being exposed to musicians and live performances as a child set the course for her artistry early on. Her father, Pete Antell, was a chart-ranking Pop music artist that performed on national tours with Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers and others. Pete was a part of the Brill Building community and worked with greats such as Ike and Tina Turner, The Four Seasons, Tony Orlando, Jackie Wilson, Count Basie and Cab Calloway. Once while accompanying her dad on tour, Danielle was standing backstage next to Christine McVie’s piano and thought “this is what I’m going to do someday.” And so the journey began.
As a Songwriter of multiple genres, she has penned close to 200 songs, both the lyrics and the music. Her wide array of musical influences encompassing Jazz, Motown, Blues, 60’s Rock, 70’s melodies, 80’s New Wave, 90’s jam bands, Grunge, Country, Singer/Songwriter and Showtunes, have all shaped her sound to what it is today – a very unique sound that is strangely familiar yet like nothing you’ve heard before. Freedom and Philosophy has picked up press on Art Entertainment Breaking News and Bored 4 Music; amongst other online and print publications.
“Freedom & Philosophy” really captures the flavor of all music. You can taste rock, pop, jazz, swing, country, etc. in the layers of the rebellious track. Danielle’s unique raw vocals are a nice contrast to this. You really get the sense she wanted to capture the real live experience in the booth, on tape. What you hear is what you get, on all fronts. A true upside to being a child of the music game, grooves just flow out her soul.

This single is a follow up to her first album “New Elements” which was released independently on iTunes in 2013. That album was self-produced and received a great deal of airplay on college and internet radio, while also ranking on Indie Artist song charts and competitions. Danielle’s self-funded tour promoted her first CD where she connected with audiences from West to East playing in a variety of music festivals and venues.
