Bobby Cage – Wrong Side of Love

By Tina Swanson

Bobby Cage’s sophomore CD asks the question “could this be the future of country music?”  With the overwhelming number of songs dedicated to finding love, losing love, wanting love and other love stuff, I’d have to say the answer is no.  It presents itself as a more easy listening, standard representation of country.

The CD picks things up and leaves you (at least me) with a happier feel when the topic moves away from love.  The up-beat, bluegrass tunes “You Can Always Count On Me” and “Days Gone By,” show more variety in the singing… a departure from the monotone style of the slower ballads on this CD.  These two songs are my personal favorites.

Nicely produced by Larry Marrs and co-produced by Bobby Cage, it’s an easy listening CD that will make those of you who can’t get enough love songs enjoy.
